If you are a homeowner, you know what kind of a struggle it is to keep your house clean! Be it dust, wilted leaves, or even pests, you must ensure none of them get in. As for the first two, you could just collect them and throw them in the garbage, but what about pests? It is a huge headache to maintain your house when pests are continuously trying to get in. But where do they get in from? You might be very cautious about your doors and windows, but you never know what other means they use to get into your house and ruin your mental peace!

Many pest control services offer same day service that will help you in prompt decisions.

Some Common Ways for the Pests to Enter Your House

    • Unsealed Doors and Windows

You must have kept your doors and windows open during the summers to let fresh air in, and suddenly you hear a buzzing sound in your house! That is how most pests enter your house during summer or any other season. Flying insects, such as mosquitoes and flies, can enter your house freely through open windows and doors. You can install screens and make sure you close doors without fail to stop insects from entering your house.

    • Cracks and Tiny Passages in the Walls

Tiny cracks and gaps in walls, windows, and doors act as shortcuts for pests to get into your house. Insects like ants, cockroaches, and spiders can easily enter through tiny openings, like the gaps between the walls and windows. Cables, air vents, dryers, or even exhaust fans act as passages for insects to enter your house.

    • Any Large Openings in your House

Do you have a chimney in your house? You know what it means- direct entries for insects and bugs! You cannot perfectly seal chimneys or large openings like that in your house, but you can install screens or hardwire cloth to prevent pests from getting in.

    • Plumbing and Drainage

Did you know that moisture attracts pests like termites and cockroaches? That is why you might have seen cockroaches around damp areas. Also, leaky pipes, clogged drains, and improper drainage around your home can create the perfect environment for these pests. So, regularly check for plumbing issues and call the plumber if needed!

    • Unmaintained garden or yard

Letting the grass in your yard grow tall invites pests to breed and provides the perfect environment for them. Also, mosquitoes start multiplying if there are any puddles or containers that have stagnant water for a long time. Make sure you keep your yard clean and regularly trim the grass.
